This week on the tape

31 August 2026

Archived edition — written against the dataset as it stood on 31 August 2026, and its figures have not been restated since. See the current tape

A dataset two days old cannot tell you anything about the market, so the useful discipline this week is reading what is withheld: three figures have no sample behind them yet.

  • Ask for the n before quoting a rate — a percentage over four deals is not a rate.
  • Record an absent figure as absent; an announcement that states no amount is not an amount of zero.
  • Check which market an event sits on before reading it as a signal about your own.

Seed edition · dataset as of 31 August 2026, covering two days from 29 August

The week was flat: no admissions, no cancellations, no suspensions, and one intention to float on the whole tape.

1. The tape opens with a single row, and it is not a Main Market new issue

As of 31 August 2026 the dataset covers two days and holds one event. Admissions: zero. Cancellations: zero. Suspensions: zero. Net flow: zero. Nothing has been raised, because nothing has been admitted.

The one row is an intention to float, and it is dated 28 August — a day before the tape was opened on the 29th, which is the first thing worth reading off the page: the coverage window starts when the routine started looking, not when the market started moving. Roundhouse AI LTD announced it intends to apply for admission of its entire issued and to be issued share capital to AIM, moving from the AQSE Growth Market, with the AQSE cancellation to take place simultaneously with admission. The announcement says the company intends to raise new capital alongside admission but gives no figure, so the tape records no amount against it. An absent figure is not a zero, and the "raised, where stated" cell says so directly: stated by 0 of 0.

Two things follow from that row, and neither of them is a trend. It is an intention, not an admission, so it moves exactly one count — the tape shows one live intention to float, none gone quiet. And it is a venue transfer to AIM. The tape has so far recorded no event on the Main Market at all, which is the regime the sponsor's financial position and prospects confirmation under UKLR 24.3.2R(5) actually sits in.

Three figures on the page are withheld rather than estimated: median ITF-to-admission, post-ITF completion, and the transfer share of admissions each stand at n=0, against thresholds of 5, 8 and 5. There is no median this week because there is no pair to compute one from, and this edition will not imply one.

No criterion tag on this entry. A single transfer announcement to a growth market says nothing about anyone's readiness procedures, and attaching an ID to it would be decoration.
