This week on the tape

21 September 2026

Archived edition — written against the dataset as it stood on 21 September 2026, and its figures have not been restated since. See the current tape

The tape moved once this week: a self-requested suspension. The cumulative picture is unchanged — net flow still negative, and the preparation figures still too thin to generalise.

  • Only row added since 16 September: Pacific Assets Trust plc, temporary suspension of trading in ordinary shares at the company's request, Main Market, 17 September 2026.
  • Year to date: 36 admissions, 60 cancellations, net flow minus 24, 51 suspensions.
  • Median ITF-to-admission gap published at 22.0 days on a sample of 5; the post-ITF completion rate is withheld as the sample is too small.
  • Share of admissions that are venue transfers: 0.4167 on a sample of 36.
  • Seven intentions to float on record, 2 live and 0 stale; money raised stated for 15 of 36 admissions, totalling GBP 1,562,166,881.

Dataset as of 21 September 2026 · 166 rows from 1 January 2026

One row was added to the tape since the last edition: a temporary suspension of trading in ordinary shares, at the company's own request, on the Main Market. That is the whole of the week's movement in the event log. The cumulative picture is unchanged from Wednesday: 36 admissions and 60 cancellations on record since 1 January 2026, a net flow of minus 24, with 51 suspensions logged over the same period. Seven intentions to float are on record, two of them live and none stale. On preparation timetables, the median gap from intention to float to admission is published at 22.0 days on a sample of five; the post-ITF completion rate is withheld because the sample is too small to mean anything. Of the 36 admissions, 15 carry a stated amount raised, totalling GBP 1,562,166,881, and 0.4167 of admissions, or just under 42 per cent, are venue transfers rather than new issues.

Coverage: one trading day of new rows, 17 September 2026, in an edition dated 21 September 2026; cumulative figures cover 1 January 2026 to 21 September 2026.

1. A single suspension, and it is self-requested

The only row added since the last edition is Pacific Assets Trust plc's temporary suspension of trading in ordinary shares, effective 17 September 2026, recorded on the Main Market and flagged as made at the company's request. The condition matters: a suspension requested by the issuer is a different event from one imposed on it, and the tape distinguishes the two. Nothing in the row states a reason, and nothing in it links the suspension to a listing application. It brings the year-to-date count of suspensions to 51, against 36 admissions and 60 cancellations, a net flow of minus 24. Readers preparing a listing should note only what the row supports: that suspensions are running well ahead of admissions on this tape, and that most of the activity logged is not new issuance.

2. The year's flow is dominated by departures, not arrivals

Across the period from 1 January 2026 to 21 September 2026, the tape records 60 cancellations against 36 admissions, leaving a net flow of minus 24, with 51 suspensions logged alongside. Two structural facts sit under those numbers. First, the share of admissions that are venue transfers is published at 0.4167, a sample of 36, so just under 42 per cent of the arrivals this year are companies moving between venues rather than coming to market with a new issue. Second, money raised is stated for 15 of the 36 admissions, totalling GBP 1,562,166,881; the remaining admissions carry no stated figure on the tape. For a CFO or company secretary reading this as background, the relevant point is arithmetic rather than interpretive: this year's log is a shrinkage story, and any reading of the admissions count should be netted against transfers before it is treated as new supply.

3. The preparation gap is published, the completion rate is not

The median gap between an intention to float and admission is published at 22.0 days, as of 21 September 2026, on a sample of five. Seven intentions to float are on record, of which two are live and none stale, so the gap describes a small and recent set rather than a settled long-run average. The post-ITF completion rate is withheld because the sample is too small to be meaningful; the page prints "not enough data yet" in its place. Those two statements should be read together. A published median of 22.0 days tells a preparer roughly how long the tail of the process has recently taken for those who reached admission; it says nothing about how often an intention converts, and the withheld completion rate is the figure that would. Preparers building a timetable should treat 22.0 days as a descriptive observation on five outcomes, not as a service level.
